Andrey Ugarte Montero
Andrey has a Bachelor’s of English and a Bachelor’s of Actuarial Science from the University of Costa Rica (UCR). Before starting his Master’s degree in Actuarial Science at ISEG, University of Lisbon, Andrey worked as a consultant in actuarial services for the Firm Ernst&Young (EY) for about 4 years, participating and developing projects for several countries in Central America and the Caribbean. In Portugal, Andrey had short-term professional experiences at Willis Towers Watson (WTW) and Grupo Novo Banco (GNB), both developing tasks related to actuarial science. Currently he is a Graduate Assistant and Phd. Candidate in Actuarial Science at HEC Lausanne (University of Lausanne), in Switzerland. In addition, he is finishing his actuarial accreditation with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries of the United Kingdom.
In his free time, Andrey loves being outdoors, riding bicycles, travelling, and getting to see new places.
Mariam Omobonike Musa-Bello
Mariam is currently working as an economic role Actuarial Intern at Liberty Seguros Portugal, a subsidiary of the Liberty Mutual Insurance group, a globally diversified American Property and Casualty Insurer.
She is presently the Vice president of the actuarial science club for the session on going.
After her Bachelor's degree in Actuarial science and before her master's in ISEG, she worked as an intern in an Insurance company in her home country, First Bank of Nigeria General Insurance as a reserving and Enterprise risk management actuary.
She is very passionate about her potential to become a fully qualified Actuary. She loves to sing as she is the “Maria” Callas of the class.
Filipe de Oliveira Bello
Filipe is currently working for VITALIS®️, a global company that provides actuarial consulting and asset management for private pension plans. Recently, he and a group of students from ISEG were awarded by winner Europe & 3rd Prize World of the 2019 Student Research Case Study Challenge organized by the Society of Actuaries (SOA). Also, has more than 7 year experience in the Brazilian insurance market, mainly working as Life Pricing Actuary for Prudential Life Insurance.
He likes to run, do workout, traveling and to try different new restaurants in his leisure time.
Miguel Pinto Elyseu
Miguel is a 23-year-old student from Lisbon. Before enrolling in the Master’s in Actuarial Science, he studied Management in ISEG, from where he got his interest of becoming an actuary.
He is currently working for CA Vida, a Portuguese life insurance company, whilst working on his Master’s Final Work.
In his free time, he enjoys playing every kind of sports with his friends and binge-watching movies and/or series.
Ana Luísa Paquete Marques
Ana studied Mathematics at FCT-NOVA. There she discovered her love for probability, statistics and developed a lot of interest in the actuarial world. A lot of her interest was also due to an internship taken at the consulting company Willis Towers Watson on her bachelor's senior year.
She loves writing, cooking and plays the clarinet in a philarmonic band.
Jairo Moreira Caetano da Silva
Jairo is an industrial engineer. He has over 3 years of experience at Latin America biggest reinsurance company, IRB Brasil Re, developing pricing and risk management tools.
He likes to play and watch sports, specially soccer, and also be with his family and friends in his free time.
